In Swedish there is a word for avoid paying the fee for using public transportation: planka.

When I lived in Gothenburg, which is famous for its trams, planking was as normal as breathing. Seriously, it was a real art craft. 

At the time the controlmen wore bright, white, baseball caps and black attire. They were eye catching. For every Gothenburger and the sight of a white baseball cap will send shivers down your spine.

Public transportation isn't something everyone can afford but something everyone needs. The controlmen were always more saturated in poorer areas and a rare sight in rich ones.
